Common Misconceptions About Health

Have you tried everything to improve your health, yet nothing is working? If you want to know what true health is, you must first look at what it isn’t. Perhaps one reason you haven’t achieved your health goals is because you have believed one of these common health misconceptions.

Feeling Good Means I'm Healthy

People believe that if they feel good, they are healthy. This is not always true. How many times have you heard of someone who felt great but died of a heart attack? Or maybe was suddenly diagnosed with cancer? People who feel good die of heart attacks and are far too often diagnosed with cancer. The essence of health isn’t found in the absence of physical symptoms. Most developing countries are experiencing growth in creature comforts, better access to modern healthcare, and an abundant food supply. We should be the healthiest generation! But we’re not, are we? Chronic and autoimmune diseases are not decreasing; they are increasing exponentially! So, feeling good is not an indicator of true health any more than driving a fancy car is a reliable indicator of your net worth.

Healthcare is disease-oriented, not health-oriented. That’s not because there’s anything wrong with doctors, but rather because they’re wearing the wrong “glasses” when looking at disease and wellness. Their toolbox is limited to surgery, pills, and antidepressants. They are still being trained in the thinking of the twentieth century. The problems we face today are radically different from the problems of the 1900s! The problems we face today are a result of the “comforts” of a modern lifestyle. But this modern lifestyle with all its stress and busyness has made us sicker, not better off.

Genes Determine Your Destiny

For generations it was assumed that our health depended on the genes inherited from our families. This misconception led many to conclude that if a woman’s mother had breast cancer, then surely she would end up with it as well. Today, we know this isn’t necessarily true. We know the choices we make daily determine which disease processes are turned on; and which are turned off. The only thing that our gene code determines is our species, and the best environment for us to thrive in. The DNA of a fish demands water for that fish to thrive. As humans our gene code is what determines the best environment for us to live in physically, chemically, and emotionally. If our environment is pure and sufficient our DNA will express vibrant health.

Germs Make Us Sick

You’ve heard that germs cause sickness, but this “germ theory” has long been disproved. Have you ever found yourself in a room where someone sneezes or coughs, and all the people in the room duck for cover and shoot a dirty glance at the individual who had the audacity to sneeze or cough? If exposure to germs automatically makes us sick, why aren’t we all dead? The truth is germs make a “weak host” sick—a body that is no longer resilient, whose immune system has been compromised by high levels of toxins or a nutrient deficiency. If the flu comes into your house, not everyone succumbs to it—only those whose resilience has been compromised. These compromised individuals are the ones who catch every illness that goes around.

Most viruses emit a very low vibrational frequency. When our cells are healthy, they vibrate at a much higher frequency. The Pauli Exclusion Principle in Physics tells us that two differing frequencies cannot exist in the same space at the same time. The higher vibrations will always dominate and push out the lower frequencies. So, we know that when we are angry, depressed, hopeless, or jealous, we are emitting a very low frequency. When we are living in joy, peace, and love, we vibrate at a high level. Frankly, I believe humans can get to the point where germs are afraid of them!

Eating Organic & Working Out

Most of us would assume that if we eat organic foods and exercise regularly, we will get the vibrant health we desire. While I am an advocate of eating clean, organic foods and exercising regularly, the truth is that I have many patients who have clean diets and excellent fitness routines, yet they are coming to me with cancer or a chronic illness. I also have several friends and family who eat “like garbage,” yet they seem never to get sick—like they will live forever!

The secret to health is resilience. It is also why one person gets cancer, yet another does not. Why one person gets the flu, yet another in the same household does not. True health comes from lowering our toxic load, and making sure that we are not deficient in nutrients.
